Poland’s two leading DTH platforms have escaped potentially huge fines for alleged uncompetitive behaviour.
It has been reported that the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has decided there are insufficient grounds to fine both Cyfrowy Polsat and Cyfra+ up to 10% of their annual income – a combined figure understood to be PLN132 million (€37.4 million) – for conspiring to act against the rival DTH platform n.
This followed reports late last year that Cyfrowy Polsat and Cyfra+ had cancelled agreements with distributors who also sold reception equipment for n.
