The incumbent Albanian telco Albtelecom has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to develop a NGN to offer broadband services to its subscribers. Albtelecom accounts for around 90% of the fixed line market in Albania and has listed the Turkish consortium Calik Enerji Telecommuication, a consortium consisting of Calik Energy and Turk Telekom, as its majority (76%) shareholder since last year.
