Deutsche Telekom is to buy a 19.9% stake in the incumbent Greek telco OTE from Marfin Investment Group (MIG) for around €2.5 billion. The agreement, which is likely to be finalised by May 7 at the latest, still needs the approval the Greek government and Deutsche Telekom’s supervisory board. The Greek state currently own 28% of OTE, with the remainder held by international institutional shareholders (47.4%), Greek institutional shareholders (19.2%) and unspecified parties (5.3%).
