Euro 2012 is likely to result in a huge increase in the cost of TV football rights in Poland. In an interview with the local press, Leszek Miklas, the president of the Ekstraklasa (premier league) club Legia Warszawa, has predicted that they could cost up to PLN750 million (€210.7 million) a season for Ekstraklasa after the tournament, as opposed to the PLN125 million currently being paid by Canal+ and the incumbent telco TPSA. Euro 2012 will be jointly hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
