Viaccess is to acquire Orca Interactive for an estimated $21.4 million (€13.9 million). Orca Interactive, which is based in Israel, is a leading provider of IPTV middleware and applications for broadband network operators and service providers. France Telecom-owned Viaccess is meanwhile a leading player in content protection, with 1.2 million active subscribers in the IPTV sector in Europe alone. The deal between the two parties still has to be approved by an extraordinary general meeting of Orca Interactive.
