Norwegian cablenet Get is going HD with an initial package comprising Canal+ Film HD, Canal+ Sport HD, Discovery HD, Voom HD, Silver HD and Luxe HD.
Subscribers will access the channels through the new Get box HD PVR, costing NOK1,200 (€151) and including a 250 GB hard disk. The monthly fee will be NOK99 and the box is also compatible with Get’s new video on demand service. Later this summer Get plans to increase broadband speeds to 50 Mbps.
The former UPC Norway is now owned by the European investment company Candover.
Separately, Voom’s regional distribution partner has announced carriage deals with Lithuania’s Alpha Komunikacijos, Penki Kontinentai and Splius, as well as Estonia’s EST.
