The Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT has launched a DTT service named Digital GALA. It is initially offering 33 channels, though the number will be increased to 40 in July and include 12 Lithuanian services, 11 in the Russian language and three especially aimed at children. Although Digital GALA will cost LTL29 (€8.40) a month to receive, both TEO customers and those receiving its IPTV service, now known as Interactive GALA, will be offered it free of charge for a year they order it by the end of May. Digital GALA is already available to between 75-80% of the population, though it is expected that by the end of the year digital transmitters will cover at least 95% of the country.
