Televizija Vijesti has received a licence to broadcast via cable and IPTV in Montenegro and its signal will soon be available via the Extra TV, BBM and Kabling cable distribution platforms. The broadcaster will also take part in the recently announced tender for terrestrial TV frequencies and hopes to cover at least 10 cities, excluding the capital, Podgorica. The US Media Development Loan Fund (MDLF) has meanwhile announced it is taking a 25% stake in Televizija Vijesti. It is already a shareholder in Serbia’s RTV B92, Bosnia’s Alternativna Televizija and also supports an independent TV station in Kosovo.
