The incumbent Swiss telecom operator Swisscom has said it will add four HD channels to its Bluewin TV offer by the end of this month. The four channels will be BBC HD, the German Anixe HD, Arte HD, and HD suisse for no addtional charge for subscribers to Bluewin TV Plus.The total Bluewin TV offer consists of 120 television channels and 80 radio stations. The addition of BBC HD is especially interesting, as there is no international version of the channel as yet available, only the UK DTH one.
Swiss copyright law has a broad interpretation with major hotels able to offer all the BBC’s domestic channels unchallenged.
