French President Nicolas Sarkozy has appointed Alain de Pouzilhac, CEO France 24, to lead a new entity that will oversee all of the French government’s international TV and radio outlets. De Pouzilhac will oversee the formation of France Monde, which will include Radio France International, TV5 Monde and France 24. “Alain de Pouzilhac is expected to chair this new organization, which will be in charge of modernizing French and French-speaking international public broadcasting,” said a statement from President Sarkozy’s office. French journalist Christine Ockrent will become general director of France Monde. De Pouzilhac is due to come up with a plan of action for France Monde for 2009-2013.
