The Ukrainian state expects to make $7 billion (€4.8 billion) from the sale of a 67.8% stake in the country’s incumbent telco, Ukrtelecom. The figure was provided by Yosip Vinsky, the transport and communications minister, speaking to the local press, and if the forecast comes true it would represent the most lucrative privatisation in Ukraine to date. Following the sale, 25% of Ukrtelecom will still remain in public hands, and 7.2% is likely to be retained by its employees.
