Eurocom Cable expansion continues

February 11, 2008 12.43 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The acquisition spree that Eurocom Cable, one of Bulgaria’s leading cable operators, recently embarked on looks set to continue. It is reported that the company, which is owned by Hungary’s FiberNet, itself backed by Warburg Pincus, plans to acquire the Plovdiv-based MSOs OSG Intercom and Intercom Bor Sat. Only last week, Eurocom Cable secured permission to buy five other small operators. Perhaps even more importantly, it was given the go-ahead to buy Interactive Technologies, the operator of one of Bulgaria’s two DTH platforms, in late January.
