The Polish public broadcaster TVP is to allocate some of its satellite capacity to another station. According to TVP, a transponder on Astra at 19.2 degrees East will be sublet to TV Trwam, a regional station backed by the controversial Fr. Tadeusz Rydzyk. TVP, which is planning to launch a DTH platform, possibly with SES Astra as a partner, currently rents two transponders from the latter, one of which it uses solely for distribution of two national and five thematic proprietary channels.
