Microsoft and MTV Networks have announced an agreement in which content from MTV will be made available on MSN Video, including exclusive live footage from a number of top artists. Short duration videos, some exclusive, from shows such as Pimp My Ride, Punk’d, Cribs and South Park will be available on MSN Video across the European region. There will also be exclusive content available on MSN Video, including live concerts by Beyonce, Smashing Pumpkins, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse and Shakira. From today, the material will be available in MSN Video in the UK, France, Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. Belgium, Spain, Denmark and Norway will follow later.
MSN Video is now in the process of beefing up its content through a number of deals with, amongst others, Endemol, National Geographic and the Dutch video news agency Zoom.in. In the near future, content from other MTV Networks channels such as Nickelodeon, Paramount Comedy and Comedy Central will be added to MSN Video. The company has also announced a content deal with Sony/BMG to offer music clips in the UK, France and Germany, and at a later stage also in Russia, Poland and The Netherlands.
