CSTB 2008, Moscow: The Russian IPTV service Stream TV will expand to two or three locations beyond Moscow this year, according to Sistema Mass Media general director Eldar Razroev, speaking exclusively to Broadband TV News. He also said that SMS is ready to launch a mobile TV service, offering eight specially formatted channels, as soon as next month providing regulatory restraints can be overcome. Stream TV is operated by Comstar Direct, which is itself owned by SMS and Comstar-UTS, and the undisputed market leader in the IPTV sector. A future mobile TV service produced by SMM will be offered to all mobile operators and be made available nationally.
