Telenor and Time Warner have emerged as potential purchasers of Nordic pay-TV group C More, should present owners ProSieben Sat.1 Media AG proceed with a sale of the company.
The German news magazine Der Spiegel reported a potential €300 million sale of C More, which operates the Canal+ brand in the Nordic market. ProSieben acquired C More last year as part of its €3.3 billion purchase of SBS Broadcasting.
Der Spiegel says Lehman Brothers has been asked to prepare sale documents by the end of February ahead of a sale this summer. The article quotes a company source as saying no final decision has been made.
A Telenor purchase would see the Norwegian operator further cement its pay-TV interests that centre on the Canal Digital pay-TV platform it once co-owned with Canal+.
