The History Channel UK has appointed Chello Zone to be its distribution representative for pay-TV platforms in the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Chello Zone’s parent company Chellomedia will also provide a range of broadcast services, including digitization and signal distribution, content language versioning, and scheduling through its facilities at the Digital Media Centre in Amsterdam.
It is anticipated that services will rollout in Central and Eastern Europe during Q2 2008.
The History Channel UK is a joint venture between the A&E Television Networks (AETN) and BSkyB. The joint venture also operates The History Channel and The History Channel HD in Scandinavia, the Benelux, Sub-Sahara Africa and Greece, as well as Crime & Investigation Network in Sub-Sahara Africa.
