The French media authority CSA has published a map on its website with new transmitters sites and launch dates. By year end, 89% of the French population should be reached, compared with the current 85%. Viewers have access to 17 national free-to-air channels, as well as to one of the 18 regional broadcasters. This year, French DTT will also see the introduction of HD DTT transmissions. TF1, M6 and France2 will start free-to-air transmissions this spring. The CSA has now opened up the application round for an HD pay-TV channel. Proposals can be submitted till March 11, a public hearing will be held in April and a decision is expected in May. The map can be accessed at the CSA website (in French).
