The German pay TV operator Premiere has switched on the Conax encryption for its Premiere Thema bouquet. The service will be marketed to owners of satellite receivers with embedded Conax, as well as those with CI modules. Viewers will need a so-called Tevistar smart card which is sold by TechniSat. The card gives access to two months worth of free viewing, after which a subscription with Premiere must be taken. The Tevistart card comes standard with the TechniSat MF-4S satellite receiver.
