NDS is to supply the Polish MSO Aster with technology for its next generation cable TV service. By providing VideoGuard conditional access, MediaHighway middleware, customised EPG and a suite of interactive technologies, it will allow Aster to offer – amongst others – integrated DVRs, and VOD. Aster is the fourth largest operator in Poland, with around 370,000 subscribers in Warsaw, Kraków and Zielona Góra, and of these, 55,000 receive digital TV services. In a related development, NDS has teamed up with Kaonmedia to offer Aster digital set-top boxes with DVRs for HD viewing.
