CanalSat is set to launch a special bouquet of channels for the Swiss DTH market before the end of June. The move follows a clampdown on smart cards that travel to Switzerland. In the past few months the French satellite operator has stopped supplying smart cards to dealers who the company believed were supplying them to people residing in Switzerland. Since CanalSat only owns the DTH rights for France, it took measures against this ‘grey’ market. In order to satisfy the demand for more French language programming in Switzerland, the company now plans a dedicated DTH offer for the country. The line-up has to be announced, but will include all the digital terrestrial channels, the seven CinemaCinema channels, the five Planete channels and the HD versions of both Canal+ and CinemaCinema.
