Saudi Telecom is to buy a 35% stake in Oger Telecom for RL9.6 billion (€1.7 billion). Saudi Telecom is already present in a number of markets outside Saudi Arabia and the move will give it access to Turkey, where Oger Telecom, which is based in Dubai, holds a 55% stake in the incumbent telco Türk Telekom. The latter’s interests include a majority (81%) stake in the mobile company Avea.
