The Italian media company Mediaset will launch a new DTT pay package called Premium Gallery on January 19 in addition to its current pay-per-view offer. A total of six channels will be broadcast on the Dfree DTT multiplex. The multiplex already carries the Media Shopping and Boing channel and reaches about 74.5% of the Italian population. In order to make room for the new channel Sportitalia, Rete 4 and Italia 1 have been moved to another multiplex. Premium Gallery will consist of three channels, Joy, Mia and Steel, that will broadcast mainly series and TV movies such as House, Heroes, Bionic Woman, Pushing Daisies and Gossip Girl. Part of the programming on Steel will consist of a Sci-Fi Channel branded block from Universal. A deal with Time Warner has also been secured.
Exact pricing details are expected to be announced soon.
