The Polish news channel Polsat 24 is expected to make its debut this May, according to a local report. However, the service, which will cost in the region of PLN150-250 million (€42.2-70.4 million) to set up, still has to receive a licence from the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT). Polsat operates a news/business channel named TV Biznes, and the news channel market is already served by TVP’s TV Info, ITI Group’s TVN 24 and Superstacja, a tabloid-style service 50% owned by STER, a company belonging to Polsat’s Zygmunt Solorz-Zak.
