The Slovak cable company Satro has secured the right to offer an MMDS service in the capital, Bratislava, following a ruling by the country’ High Court.According to a local report, Satro was originally granted an MMDS licence by the Telecom Office (TUSR) in 2004, though this was subsequently disputed by UPC, Slovakia’s leading MSO. Satro was established in 1992 and the first cable operator in Slovakia to offer digital TV, launching a service in 2004. However, it remains a double play company, having not yet introduced telephony to its portfolio.
