Huawei Technologies is to supply a WiMax solution to the Bulgarian alternative telco TransTelecom, allowing it to roll out a network in the country’s major cities including Sofia and Varna. TransTelecom was established in 2003 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bulgaria Petrol Holding AD. Along with the MSO CableNet, it secured a 10-year licence for pint-to-multipoint wireless broadband services in 2005 and now plans to become the leading wireless broadband company in Bulgaria.
