A Dutch court has declared the Dutch based home shopping networks Tel Sell and LiveShop bankrupt. Tel Sell was established in 1993 and specialised in the broadcast of infomercials by entering into agreements with broadcasters across Europe. The planned sale of the assets of the company, as reported earlier in Broadband TV News, has now been cancelled. In October, 2006, Tel Sell launched the LiveShop channel, a joint venture with Chellomedia, in which Tel Sell owns 20%. The channel used studio facilities and the call centre in the Tel Sell headquarters in the city of Almere. As reported by us, ddifficulties at the company became apparent when Chellomedia announced disappointing results at the joint venture. Late last year, LiveShop announced it would drop its analogue cable distribution in favour of digital in order to reduce costs.
