The German regional public broadcaster MDR is set to launch a DMB pilot project in the city of Leipzig for the duration of one year. Three specially produced TV channels and two radio stations will be part of the free-to-air offer. The television offer will consist of a news and current affairs channel; a kids channels with specially edited 10 minute segments drawing from the library of the Kika kids channel and a third channel produced by MDR Sputnik with music and interactive elements aimed at a young audience. The two radio stations will be simultaneous relays of two MDR stations.
