The German pay-TV operator Premiere is to close down its international DTH bouquets at the end of the year, according to German news reports. At the moment, there are two packages available on the Astra satellite at 23.5 degrees East, namely Premiere Turkish-XL and Premiere Turkish.
The service was launched during the Berlin Funkausstellung in September 2005, when a number of international bouquets was introduced, among them Turkish, Italian and Russian. Most of these services have already been closed down, as most foreigners living in Germany have already opted for the greater choice of free-to-air channels on other satellites.
