Russia has begun trialling a new DTH platform, according to several local reports. Known as Russian TV Time, it is aimed at viewers outside the country and is being distributed by Intelsat 12 at 45 degrees East. Among the channels Russian TV Time is currently carrying are Telekanal Feniks Ars, Bridge TV and Sarafan TV. It will eventually offer viewers up to 30 Russian and localised international channels. Russia is already served by the DTH platforms NTV-Plus, Tricolor and Orion Express.
