Sky is to increase the range of movies available on its Sky Anytime on PC service after agreeing terms with Paramount and Warner Bros. In the process Sky Anytime on PC becomes the first online download service to offer movies from the six major movie studios.
The Paramount deal brings with it movies including Mission: Impossible 3, The Weather Man, Saving Private Ryan and Top Gun. In the New Year all Sky customers will be able to download titles including Shrek The Third and Transformers through Sky Box Office. The Warner Bros deal includes the likes of Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire, Superman Returns and Poseidon. Movies from 20th Century Fox, Universal, Sony, and Disney have been available since launch in January 2006.
Sky TV subscribers that have signed up to Sky Movies can access between 400 and 500 movies at no additional cost. A selection of pay-per-view movies is also available.
A selection of the content is also available to selected Sky+ and Sky HD homes.
