UPC Czech Republic has announced the addition of the film channel Nova Cinema and children’s JimJam to its digital programme offer. The former will make its debut in Q1 2008, while the latter will be available from the moment it starts broadcasting in the Czech Republic, and neither service will also be offered to analogue cable subscribers. UPC’s digital offer currently consists of 70 channels, 46 of which are in Czech or Slovak. UPC Czech Republic launched its digital cable service earlier this year and subsequently combined it with that of Karneval, which the MSO acquired for €322.5 million in 2006. It is likely to end this year with around 100,000 subscribers.
