DTH operator Sky Italia has signed a deal with Italian broadband provider Tiscali to distribute Sky Italia content over its new IPTV service. The telco has launched Tiscali TV in Cagliari, Milan and Rome and plans to roll out in other places throughout 2008. Access to the Sky packages will commence early next year.
“The launch of Tiscali TV confirms its innovative strategy and allows Sky to favour Italian consumers access to its offering, making our packages available on this new TV platform,” Tom Mockridge, Sky Italia’s CEO, said in a prepared statement.
