The board of directors at PT Multimedia has approved a strategic plan for the company until 2010. Its main objectives include becoming the leading triple play provider in Portugal, with more than half of its customer base taking bundled services; securing over €1 billion in revenues; and double digit EBITDA growth. PT Multimedia aims to maintain its lead in the pay-TV sector, launching a number of new channels including Sport TV3; introducing HD services; and upping its DTH offer to over 100 channels. It will also introduce new functionalities such as a digital recorder with EPG, Pause Live TV, Video Club/VOD and personalised channel grid, while its Internet offer Netcabo will be boosted to speeds of up to 100Mbps by the end of 2008. PT Multimedia also aims to extend its cable coverage to an additional 300,000 homes and add a new transponder for its satellite service, which will migrate to MPEG-4.
