Janis Holsteins, the head of the Latvian public broadcaster LTV, is reported in the Russian press to have resigned. However, this has still to be confirmed in the Latvian media. Holsteins recently found himself embroiled in a controversy over a documentary about President Putin. Due to air on December 1, or the day before the Russian State Duma elections, it was rescheduled for this Saturday (December 8th) amid allegations of censorship by the National Radio and TV Council (NRTC).
