The Bulgarian DTH platform ITV Partner has become a take-over target for the cable operator Eurocom Cable. According to a local report, Eurocom Cable has asked the country’s Commission for the Protection of Competition to look into its proposed acquisition of Interactive Technologies, the owner of ITV Partner and itself majority (97%) owned by the Luxembourg-based Central Investment Group Holding. ITV Partner is one of two DTH platforms currently operating in Bulgaria. Launched in late 2004, it is distributed by Eutelsat at W2 at 16 degrees East and offers subscribers 44 TV channels, seven radio stations and such additional services as PPV. Eurocom cable is owned by Hungary’s FiberNet, itself backed by Warburg Pincus.
