MultiChoice Africa and MultiChoice South Africa have reached the combined total of two million subscribers. MultiChoice Africa, which serves no fewer than 47 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa itself, has added 30,000 subscribers in recent months despite the launch of a number of high profile competitors.
Eben Greyling, CEO of MultiChoice Africa said the company welcomed competition and had prepared the ground for the launch of new services. “We have always strived to provide world class television entertainment in Africa, benchmarking ourselves against the best pay television platforms globally. This commitment means we constantly research and review the channels on DStv, and over the years we have continuously made adjustments to improve our subscribers’ viewing experience.”
The company has been operating in Africa for more than 15 years with familiar brands including MultiChoice, DStv and SuperSport.
