The incumbent Lithuanian telco Teo LT has begun to offer a VOD service to customers of its IPTV platform Gala TV. It appears to have been introduced by popular demand – some 70% of Gala TV’s subscribers expressed an interest – and provides up to 100 titles, which can each be received for LTL5-10 (€1.45-2.90) over a 24-hour period. Gala TV made its debut in 2006 and currently has in the region of 15,000 subscribers. Half opt for a basic package costing LTL35 a month, while the remainder pay for additional packages, a third the Virtual Cinema Theatre and a tenth games. Teo LT lists TeliaSonera as an indirect (60%) shareholder.
