The incumbent Bulgarian telco BTC has been fined BGN250,000 (€127.889) for uncompetitive behaviour, according to local reports. According to the competition authority CPC, it refused to offer ADSL Internet access to customers who did not use its fixed line telephony service. BTC was acquired by AIG in a deal worth €1.4 billion this summer. Although the leading provider of ADSL Internet access is Bulgaria, it has, unlike its counterparts elsewhere in CEE, yet to launch an IPTV service.
