The Austrian broadcasting authority Rundfunkregulierungsstelle RTR has said it is pleasantly surprised by the huge interest being shown in the third DTT multiplex. No less than 29 local and regional TV broadcasters have applied for a licence on Mux-C.
Three of the applicants already have an analogue terrestrial licence, while the others are mainly small city broadcasters that currently are only available on local cable networks, as well as newcomers.
