The man charged with leading the UK’s digital switchover process has announced he is leaving his job just days after the first area turned off its analogue signal.
Ford Ennals, chief executive of Digital UK, is to leave in February to join sportswear firm Nike in the United States. Ennals will be president of its footwear and leather goods division. In an email to staff, Ennals explained his move as a “very difficult decision”.
Last July chief operating officer Andy Townend, who many expected to be given the senior role when Ennals was appointed three years ago, left to head up the equivalent body Digital Australia.
