Current TV, the user generated content channel founded by former US Vice President Al Gore, is launching a UK version of the current.com website.
The site combines TV with internet features, allowing viewers to comment directly on the channel’s output, either by text or through a video or mobile phone message. Contributors can also record one-minute messages on topical subjects for later broadcast.
Content producers can post briefs for other community members to contribute to their videos.
There is also a guide to video contributions currently airing on Current TV, known as On TV, giving details of what is on-air and background on the story and how it was produced.
In the UK, Current TV is available on Sky Digital and Virgin Media.
