Kids channel Jetix is successfully developing its online presence through its broadband service that has brought videoclips to viewers in the UK, Germany, Italy and Israel, and offers full-length episodes to the Netherlands, Spain and Poland. The VOD player produces 1 million initiated streams per month while the online game supporting the launch of Oban Star Racers has received 4 million game plays to date.
IPTV deals have been secured in UK, France, Spain, Germany, Israel and Switzerland and Jetix is also a part of a bouquet of mobile channels in France, Spain, Germany and Israel.
The linear channel grew its distribution by 8%, topping 50.5 million households, helped by growth in Russia and a strong performance by Polsat. However, subscriber slippage at Premiere pulled back the number of German subs. Deals have been renewed at Numericable in France, Israel’s HOT , and Virgin Media. However, repackaging by the UK operator has lost some subscribers.
Revenue in the year ending September 30, 2007 increased by 2% to €166.4 million. Channels and online revenue increased 2% to €122.9 million. Other channel and online revenue was up €1.8 million at €5.0 million.
