Anna Strezynska, the president of Poland’s Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), has said that the incumbent telco TPSA will be broken up by 2010. She has also come out against the idea of a EU-wide telecoms regulator, as recently proposed by EC Commissioner Viviane Reding. According to Strezynska, the break-up of TPSA will be undertaken on a structural or functional basis. Although both options are currently being considered, the UKE tends to favour the latter more.
