On January 2 the German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat1 will launch a ‘women’s channel’ called Neun-TV as a window on the company’s call TV channel 9Live. Modelled on the successful Dutch Net 5 and Belgian vijftv, the broadcaster is now testing the format in the German market during late afternoon, early prime with a two-hour branded block.
“Neun TV will be the home for today’s women,” according to MD Marcus Wolter. Initially, programming will include repeats of Sat1 soap Verliebt in Berlin and two telenovellas and be available from 17.45 until 19.45. During next year, programming will be extended to three hours daily.
