The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has introduced Samsung HD receivers ahead of the launch of a raft of new channels in the format, starting with Polsat Sport HD. According to local reports, they cost PLN300 (€82.6) to buy, with subscribers also required to pay an activation fee of PLN99. Alternately, they can pay PLN199, followed by PLN20 a month for a year and an activation fee of PLN1, before taking ownership of the receivers. Cyfrowy Polsat is the market leader in the Polish DTH market with 1.7 million registered subscribers. Separately, it has been reported that Cyfrowy Polsat may be floated on the Warsaw Stock Exchange before the end of this year.
