Polsat 24, the new info channel soon to be launched by the Polish national commercial broadcaster Polsat, will take 3-4 years to break even. It will also, according to Polsat’s owner Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, cost several tens of millions of zlotys to set up. The number of news and information based channels is growing rapidly in Poland. In the ITI camp, TVN24 has recently been joined by TVN CNBC Biznes, while the public broadcaster has re-launched its third channel as TVP Info. Polsat acquired TV Biznes earlier this year and has indicated it will keep it and Polsat 24 as separate services.
