The French media authority CSA has announced it will prepare sanctions against a number of thematic channels that operate with a French licence. The broadcasters involved are KTO, MCM, Télétoon, Playhouse Disney, Disney Channel, Planète Thalassa, Tiji, Filles TV and Canal J.
The CSA claims the channels have violated various rules concerning the quota of French language content during prime time, support for independent production houses and French language productions during 2006. The authority has also ordered Pink TV, 3A Télésud and Beur TV to hand over their books.
