Romanian Antena plans expansion

October 25, 2007 11.51 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Romanian national broadcaster Antena TV has told Broadband TV News it plans to launch four thematic channels in 2008. The new services will be dedicated to cookery, music, children’s and men’s programming and join a portfolio that already includes the flagship Antena 1, Antena 2 (mostly talk shows), Antena 3 (news), Antena 4 (otherwise known as Euforia, offering female/lifestyle programming) and an international channel. Antena is part of the Intact Media Group, founded by the entrepreneur Dan Voiculescu and now headed by his daughter Camelia. The group also has extensive interests in the print and radio sectors in Romania.
