Telenor has announced the new dual management team that will take control of the company’s broadcast and media activities following the departure of Stig Eide Sivertsen.
Christian Albech will head Telenor Broadcast’s operational activities, consisting of multichannel platform Canal Digital, transmission company Norkring, security company Conax and Telenor Satellite Broadcasting.
Erik Nord will manage Telenor’s media and content services. These include the newspaper group A-pressen, DTT platform NTV and sister company RiksTV, TV2 Zebra, and hotel TV supplier Otrum. Both will report to Telenor’s President and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas.
Christian Albech was formerly a senior vice president of Telenor Broadcast and has managed the company’s DTH and cable TV interests for many years. Erik Nord has more than 25 years of experience from the telecommunications, media and communications industries, a senior vice president of Telenor Broadcast he joined Telenor in 1999.
Separately, Telenor’s Broadcast division increased revenues by 12% in the third quarter to NOK1,763 million (€227.04m). However, EBITDA fell to NOK 443m from NOK 485m in Q3 2006.
